I saw you have the option to add a video post type.
How do I add one, that can be seen on the homepage and when clicked on it opens in a lightbox and the user can play it?
    Please help πŸ™‚

I bump this topic, because i’m also unable to set a mp3 mplayer (i don’t even speak about video ! a nightmare).
Adding a youtibe or vimeo video is simlple only a link is needed, and we don’t talk about that.
I tried to look at html5 audio and video tag but impossible to make the player work with mp3 or wmv.

I downloaded audio ogg file from the pinboard site demo and i can make it works !
Is there something to enable ou special code or tag ?

    Any help ?

Ok it’s the right way to make a video or audo post.

It seems to be a file format problem. I use firefox and mp3 is not recognized by tag audio.
it works fine with IE, google chrome.
certainly the same problem with the video format
it’s more clear now. Hope this help…

There are several ways to make audio and video posts. The easiest is to add a YouTube or Vimeo link and it will automatically be extracted and displayed above the post title. Alternatively you can attach audio and video files and they will be embedded in a html5 player, though keep in mind that at the moment browsers support different file formats so it’s best to attach the file in several formats: for audio mp3 and ogg and for video mp4, ogv and flv for fallback.

Opening the video in a lightbox is not supported for the moment though it is planned for a future version. The post formats will also be fully revamped at a point to support the new interface in WP 3.6.
