html5 type “email” not styled

I am using the Newsletter plugin together with the Pinboard theme on two websites I look after. The Newsletter plugin has a widget which I have placed in the sidebar, so that people can subscribe to my site. The widget has First Name, Last Name and Email address fields, but the styling of the name fields is different to the email field. I would like all 3 fields to look consistent.

I reported this on the support forum for the Newsletter plugin, and was told that the issue is caused because the html5 type “email” is not styled by my theme. See post below:

Is it possible to style the 3 fields to be the same? I would actually like all 3 fields to look like the Email field, not the name fields, and to be a bit closer together (less space between them).
