Question 1: How do I link an image so when it appears on my index page and someone clicks the image it goes to the article instead of a blank page with the image on it?
Question 2: Is there anyway that I can prevent the images on the index page from becoming so huge? The image isn’t that big in the actual blog post but when it appears on the homepage (index) in the first two spots it is very large. FYI- I am clicking the Image option when I post the article.

I guess the ‘Image’ format really is only for images.
You can easily achieve your desired effect with the standard post format and the inclusion of a featured image. This will give you your preferred image in the on the index page and will link to your post rather than the image.2:
The image becomes so big, because of the theme’s setting to display 2 full posts before the grid. If you use the Wide layout of the theme and the standard format for a post, then your full posts should not show the image stretching across the whole width.The Hidden Mickey Pins image, is that the featured image of in the article, or is it just posted in the article along with the text?
If it’s the featured image, it should direct the user to the article, which means something fishy is going on.
If it’s just posted in the article with the text, try adding a ‘a href=”url” ‘ ‘/a’ (replace the single quotes with respectively)
around the image in the text editor, that should fix the issue.

I think I’m just going to use the featured image function on future posts. I was never setting a featured image. I would just click the Image format post.
For the hidden mickey post I switched it to a featured image but it didn’t look good because the image is vertical rather than horizontal. I will just use gallery for that one.
I have another question: my infinite scroll feature stopped working for some reason. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I’ve just noticed the same thing, for the same reasons!
Before, I haven’t bothered with the Featured Image, but I thought I’d give it a go. Set number of full posts before grid to 0 (or the images would be as wide as the whole content column, and that’s no good – would’ve been much better to have it left-aligned with the box instead of above!), and … auto-loading posts stopped working. AJAX doesn’t seem to want to load either, so I’ve had to set it to Static.
And the only change was: using Featured Images + 0 full posts before grid.
