Unable to set static front page

    Hi for some unknown reason as I have been working on my dad’s site, I cannot set for the life of me the front page. I keep reading the how to section on http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page but were it states front page display with drop down menu, it shows blank. No drop down menu. Even in the reading panel, it does not show front page display selection at all. All it has is about the blog info. Please help.

    Make sure you have at least 2 existing pages. If you do a plugin may be causing that issue.

    Never Mind. I got it working. Apparently in order to get a static front page to work, you have to post the page immediately or it doesn’t work.
