After listening to your feedback we have decided to write a detailed documentation on how to use and customize the Pinboard Theme. Today we present the first part of a series of tutorials to come: How to Customize the Theme’s Header. We hope you find our tutorial useful and await your feedback.

Thank you, Daniel. This series is a fantastic addition to what is already a great theme. ‘Customizing Theme’s Header’ is VERY handy; looking forward to future tutorials as well.

    Hi there,

I’m new to pinboard but love the possibilities. While I learn it, please excuse my silly questions.

Silly question #1: I followed the tutorial for headers and am having trouble seeing my social media buttons. The search button shows, but not the others. Only using FB and twitter at the moment. Is there a widget that needs to be in the header that I am missing?

    Hi bakerja,

    just go to
    >dashboard >design >theme options >Social Media Links

and enter the URLs – so the icons should show up!
If you like to open them in a new window have a look here:

That’s exactly what I did and they do not show up. Is there another option that may be prohibiting the social icons visibility?

I’ve tried in Chrome and IE and it is the same on both.

Solved. I had to remove the search widget. Evidently when added to the header, it blocks the social buttons. When removed, search is included with the social buttons.

    hello bakerja..

just go to widget > header > edit search.

name you title search and change sidebar position to “sidebar top” then save.

    this is done for me..

No, Esplanade is more limited in matters of front page options.
