    Hello!

I hope you all are doing well. I am fairly new at WordPress and am stuck on a couple of things. I will post the first thing I’m stuck on here and will post another question in a separate post.

I have created a site with a static home page and am finding it quite difficult to get content to post to the Home page. I have created a category called “home” that I would like to use to populate the home page. I have tried changing templates and any time I get a template that works for populating the posts for the home page, I lose the rotator. Does anyone know how I can populate the home page with a specific category and keep the rotator active?

I am really stuck on this and have to find a good solution to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Once again, I am fairly new at WordPress, so details will be extremely helpful for me.

Thank you so much for your help!

What do you mean by rotator? The slider?

    Yes, the slider.

You can mark the desired category as portfolio and then use one of the portfolio page templates as for the static front page. It will however not display the slider. To do this, you must manually insert the call to <?php get_template_part( 'slider' ); ?> in the template.
